about the past: the perfect tense
Study the discussion and the verbs listed at the end of the discussion. The text provides meanings and an example of the verbs using sein as an auxiliary, but it doesn't provide a similar list for those using haben, at least not in section 4.1 . You will, however, find info on a number of haben verbs in section 4.2 at the bottom of page 162. --------- (Seite 161) -- Ubung 1 Fill the blanks with the appropriate form of haben or sein as the auxiliary verb and figure out what the sentences mean. You need to put the proper past participles in the blanks. More past participle work. You simply have to know these verb forms.
