Ir a .....

1.

Cenamos en el Café Giralda. --- We have dinner in the Giralda Café.

The object here is to say --- We are going to have dinner in the Giralda Café, so we use the We form of go (ir) and have dinner (cenar) becomes the second verb in the infinitive form. Thus:

Vamos (we are going) a cenar (to have dinner) en el CaféGiralda.

2.

Ven a Gloria Estefan en Miami. --- They see Gloria Estefan in Miami.

It's essential to recognize ven as the they form of ver (to see). Our sentence will become They are going to see Gloria, so we use the they form of go (ir) and see (ver) becomes the second verb. Thus:

Van (they are going) a ver (to see) Gloria Estefan.

3.

Corro a las seite de la mañana. --- I run at seven in the morning.

Our new sentence will be --- I am going to run at seven in the morning. Thus:

Voy (I am going) a correr (to run) a las siete de la mañana.

4.

Compredéis las oraciones,żno? --- You (you guys) understand the sentences, don't you?

This one is especially tricky because they are using the vosotros form of you.

Our new sentence will be --- You are going to understand the sentences, aren't you? We must use the vosotros for of ir for you are going and understand as the second verb in the infinitive form. Thus:

Vais (You are going) a comprender (to understand) las oriaciones, żno?
